Cookie Policy
Last updated: 15 May 2026
Effective date: 15 May 2026.
This Cookie Policy explains how Avela Global uses cookies and similar technologies on the Ideas Made Real (IMR) website, registration pages, online forms and related digital services.
1. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files placed on a device when a person visits a website. Similar technologies include pixels, tags, local storage, software development kits and analytics identifiers. These technologies help websites function, remember user choices, measure performance and support secure operation.
2. Cookie categories we may use
| Category | Purpose | Consent position |
|---|---|---|
| Strictly necessary cookies | Operate the website, registration portal, security controls, fraud prevention, load balancing, form submission, cookie preferences and session integrity. | These are required for the website to function and cannot be switched off through the website preference centre. |
| Functional cookies | Remember choices such as language, region, form progress, accessibility preferences or user-interface settings. | Used where permitted or where the visitor has enabled them. |
| Analytics/performance cookies | Understand how visitors use the website, improve content, identify errors, monitor campaigns and measure applicant journeys at an aggregated level. | Used with consent where required by applicable law. |
| Media and embedded content cookies | Support embedded video, maps, event tools, social media widgets or third-party content. | Used with consent where required. Third parties may set their own cookies. |
| Marketing cookies | Measure campaign performance or support future outreach only where the visitor has consented or where another lawful basis applies. | Disabled unless permitted by applicable law and preference settings. |
3. Cookies we do not use for applicant ideas
AG does not use cookies to extract, profile, sell, publish or commercially exploit applicant ideas, venture concepts, pitch materials or prototype information. Applicant ideas are handled under the Privacy Policy and Applicant Registration Terms and Conditions.
4. Cookie banner and preference centre
Where required, the IMR website will provide a cookie banner or preference centre that allows visitors to accept, reject or manage non-essential cookies. The site should not deploy non-essential analytics, marketing or embedded-content cookies before the visitor has made a valid choice where consent is legally required.
The preference centre should allow the visitor to change their choice at any time through a persistent link such as “Cookie Settings” in the website footer.
5. Third-party cookies
The website may use third-party services for hosting, analytics, security, form handling, embedded media, campaign measurement, customer relationship management, email delivery or event registration. Third-party providers may set their own cookies or similar technologies. AG will use reasonable steps to select reputable providers and configure services consistently with this policy.
6. Examples of likely cookie purposes
- keeping registration forms secure and preventing duplicate or fraudulent submissions;
- remembering consent choices and cookie preferences;
- measuring which information pages are most useful to applicants and university partners;
- identifying website errors, broken pages or failed form submissions;
- supporting embedded briefing videos or webinar registration tools where enabled;
- measuring campaign source performance at an aggregated level.
7. How users can control cookies
Visitors can control cookies through the IMR preference centre where available and through their browser settings. Browser settings can usually block cookies, delete cookies, restrict third-party cookies or notify the visitor before cookies are placed. Blocking some cookies may affect website functionality, form submission or registration flow.
8. Do Not Track and global privacy signals
Some browsers may transmit “Do Not Track” or other privacy signals. Because there is no single globally adopted technical standard, AG will respond to such signals where required by applicable law or where supported by the website’s consent-management technology.
9. Updates to this policy
AG may update this Cookie Policy when website functionality, service providers, cookies, analytics tools, consent requirements or law changes. The latest version will be posted on the IMR website.
